However, rather than dropping off at the back of the gym, you will need to continue around the corner of the gym and drop students off at the glass doors entering the gym. This will allow all students to enter the building at one location. There will be assistance provided for directions Monday morning. Afternoon procedures will remain the same.

Campus Safety Improvements at MCHS and MCMS

Beginning December 8, 2017

  • During school hours access to Monroe County High School and Monroe County Wellness Center will be from Old Mulkey Rd.
  • Access to Monroe County Middle School will be from Gamaliel Rd.
  • Chains will be up from 8:00am to 2:30pm.
  • This will allow us to have better control of the traffic on the MCHS and MCMS campuses which will provide a safer campus for our students and staff.
  • We have experienced drivers using the campuses as an access road from Gamaliel Rd. to Old Mulkey Rd.  During the school day we have students who use the area between the schools for physical education and other activities.  To reduce the risk of someone getting hurt, we are closing access from Gamaliel Rd. to Old Mulkey Rd. during school hours.
  • In the near future, we will be installing a check-in station at the entry of MCHS.  This will allow us to monitor who enters and exits the student parking lot.
