Be sure to watch channel 16 (local cable access) for scenes from Gamaliel Elementary School on Tuesdays. We are also on channel 94 on SCRTC Cable. Our show plays weekly. Please let us know if there is something you would like to see on 16 and 94.
Here are some other activities that your child can participate in throughout the year.
Every year we hold a Student Fair here at GES. This gives all our students the opportunity to display any item that they have created either during school or at home. We have had animal science papers, where the students actually brought in their animal. Old newspapers from an event in history, books that were dear to them as a child, and photos of family and friends. This is always a fun event for everyone.
The 4th Grade Science Expo is a collaborative effort between all Monroe County Elementary Schools, Higher Education, and Community Business. The intent of the Expo is to find a way to make science concepts come "alive" for our students. This Expo is designed for all learners, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Between 8 and 15 booths are set up to show demonstrations and hands-on science activities. This event usually takes place in the spring of each year at one of the elementary schools. The fourth grade students participate in this event.
Each year Gamaliel Elementary has a fall festival as a fundraiser for special projects such as physical education/playground equipment or special classroom materials. The fall festival includes lots of volunteers, consisting of parents, grandparents, teachers, and club members from M.C.H.S. The students always look forward to playing games and having fun with their friends. Fall Festival activities are coordinated and sponsored by PTO and teachers of G.E.S. These activities take place for students after lunch during the school day, as well as on Saturday. All parents, students and community members are invited to attend. We always have a variety of good food and fun activities for you.
This date for this years Fall Festival will be announced soon.
