What an exciting time to be in the educational field! As I look toward this coming school year, I am filled with anticipation and enthusiasm about the great possibilities that lie ahead of us. Our District has a wide gap to fill for our community and, as a group, we have dedicated ourselves to serving our students and addressing their needs to the best of our abilities.
Our students are charged with the task of performing at greater levels than ever before and, as a District, we have to provide more educational and enrichment opportunities than ever before to meet those needs. Advancements in technology are spinning ahead of us and we must embrace these changes and harness them to assist our students in their educational goals.
As our District faces these challenges, we are dedicated to working together as a team by working “smarter not harder,” applying our vast diversity of experiences to every obstacle placed before us. Although our community faces economic struggles at this time, we will continue to keep providing a safe, educationally-enriched environment for our students – many of whom would never be afforded opportunities without our intervention.
Our district is comprised of five schools including our three elementary schools (Preschool through 5th grade), one middle and one high school. We utilize various local, state and federal programs in our endeavors to reach every child including: Title I, Extended School Services, Migrant Education, Family Resource/Youth Service Centers, Vocational Education, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Preschool, Alternative Learning Center, Gifted and Talented Education, Career Development and Exceptional Childhood Education. Extra-curricular activities are abundant for our students including a wide variety of sports, clubs, fine arts opportunities and technology avenues. Non-traditional students’ needs are also addressed through Adult Education, Community Education, family literacy programs and GED testing.
Together, we are “ BUILDING FUTURES BY SERVING STUDENTS.”
