Hello, my name is Megan A. Brown and I am the speech-language pathologist (speech therapist) at Gamaliel Elementary School. I am from Monroe County where I attended school at Tompkinsville Elementary, Monroe County Middle, and Monroe County High School where I graduated in 2006. I attended Western Kentucky University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in May 2011, a Master of Science in Communication Disorders in December 2012, and my Rank 1 in Communication Disorders in July 2016. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) as granted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. I currently hold an active license in Kentucky and Tennesee as granted by the Kentucky Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Tennesee Board of Communication Disorders and Sciences. I am entering into my 6th year as a speech-langauge pathologist, intially beginning my career in a skilled nursing facility. I am currently entering my 3rd year as a school-based speech-language pathologist.
I feel communication between a parent/guardian and therapist plays a key role in a child's progress. If for any reason you need to contact me, you may reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling me at GES at 270-457-2341. I look forward to this school year and all the progress to be made.
Mission Statement: In speech-language therapy, we will make a conscious effort to give our all in all we do, always be respectful of others, and help build confidence and self-esteem in our peers.
