Monroe County High School Hires New Cheer Coach

Monroe County High School is proud to introduce Mrs. Lindsey Coffelt as the new head cheer coach.  Coach Coffelt brings a great deal of experience and talent to the cheer program and is very anxious to begin working with the girls.

Coach Coffelt is a 2004 graduate of Monroe County High School and was a varsity cheerleader for four years. During her tenure in high school, Coach Coffelt received many accolades through cheer as well as an opportunity to continue her cheering career at Lindsey Wilson College.  She cheered for five years and was a member of the competition squad for four years.  Through her participation in cheer at Lindsey Wilson College, Coach Coffelt was awarded Mid-South Conference Cheerleader her freshmen, junior, and senior years.  Coach Coffelt graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with her BA Degree in Human Services and Counseling.

Coach Coffelt is in her 5th year as the cheer coach for the Monroe County Middle School as well as a gymnastics instructor at the Monroe County Family Wellness Center where she has taught gymnastics for 7 1/2 years.  Through her experience with the middle school, Coach Coffelt has lead the squad to several wins and for the first time in school history a first place win at KAPOS in 2016.

As the new cheer coach, Coach Coffelt hopes to continue to build on the current program and bring a focus on gymnastics with her own experience and training.  She is very excited to begin her career as the high school head cheer coach.
