Members from Monroe County High School’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended the 63rd annual Kentucky FCCLA Leadership Camp at Hardinsburg, Kentucky from June 5 to June 7, 2017. Joining over 180 other members from 12 regions across the state, the week consisted of officer training sessions, networking, and team building activities. With the camp theme of “Step Up to the Plate with FCCLA”, members were inspired during the Opening Session by keynote speaker Wade Gaynor, former Detroit Tigers baseball player, as well as sepsis survivor Darrell Raikes who informed members of Kentucky FCCLA’s new statewide community service project and partnership with the Sepsis Alliance. At the closing session, Monroe County’s Callie Copass was named as a recipient of the Kentucky FCCLA Alumni and Associates camp scholarship.
Attending from Monroe County were Cally Sue Harlin (New Member Academy participant), Lexie Grace Emmert (former Kentucky FCCLA President and New Member Academy counselor), Adviser Kelli Dickson, Callie Copass (Region 4 Vice President of Individual Programs) and Kylee Brown (Region 4 Vice President of STAR Events).
