Hi, I am Jennifer Murphy and am the Health Science Instructor at MCATC.  I attended the Glasgow School for Health Occupations and became a LPN in 1994, Western Kentucky University and became a RN in 2003 and have since earned my BLS instructor certification.  I have several years of Nursing experience in the areas of Med/Surgery, Wound Care, Critical Care, Obstetrics, and Long Term Care.

I offer the Pre-Nursing, Phlebotomy, and Pharmacy Technician pathways.  For Pre-Nursing, students may enroll in Principles of Health Science, Medical Terminology/Emergency Procedures, and the Medicaid  Nurse Aide courses.  For Pharmacy or Phlebotomy Technician, students may take the Principles of Health Science, Medical Terminology/Emergency Procedures, and then take either the Pharmacy or Phlebotomy Technician Internship.  All three of these pathways offer credentials recognized by the medical field that can help students acquiring them to obtain jobs as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, Pharmacy Technician, or Phlebotomy Technican.  Medical Terminology and the Medicaid Nurse Aide courses also have the potential to earn students dual credit.  I am also the HOSA sponsor.

My hobbies include exercising and running as well as being with my friends and family.

My favorite part of my career is watching students succeed and reach their own career goals.
