Megan Roper, Assistant Principal

I am thrilled for the opportunity to be starting the 2018-19 school year as the Assistant Principal of Gamaliel Elementary School.  Gamaliel is a very special place to me.  It has such a rich tradition that I am so proud to be a part of.

This will be my 10th year in education.  I began my teaching career in Lexington, Kentucky teaching 5th grade.  I taught there for three years then moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky where I taught 4th grade for one year.  After that, an opening at Gamaliel Elementary caught my attention and my family and I packed our bags and made one last move…..home.  I have taught 4th and 5th grade at Gamaliel for 5 years. I feel as if most of my life has been spent at GES in some facet.  Many teachers in my family taught at Gamaliel, I attended GES as a child, and I have heard many stories about Gamaliel School throughout my life.  This school is just as much a part of me as I am a part of it.

I have been married to my husband Josh for 10 years!  We have two daughters Riley (8) and Reese (6) who both will be attending GES this fall.  We also have one son, Rhett (2) who is our future Tiger.

Gamaliel Elementary is a superior place, focused on high expectations with a belief that every student can and will succeed.  This belief is rooted in a history of high student achievement, strong school culture, and a strong bond with our school community. I cannot tell you how excited I am for the 2018-19 year to begin and to see all of those happy faces enter the doorways and filling our classrooms.
