Monroe County Schools Receive Million Dollar Donation

George Eagle Bushong, along with his daughter Isabelle, recently visited the Monroe County Family Wellness Center to share wonderful news with community members and school officials.  He has committed to donating $50,000 each year over the next 10 years to fund an indoor golf digital machine and a swimming scoreboard.  This is equal to a total of $500,000 earmarked for specific improvements to the Wellness Center. The building will also be renamed the George Eagle and Isabelle Bushong Family Wellness Center.

Monroe County Board of Education also received notification of two new commitments from Mr. Bushong.  He has donated $2,000 to the Hall of Fame committee each year for the next 10 years and $2,000 to the swim team each year for the next 20 years.

In addition to his Wellness Center contributions, he also pledged the following scholarships for Monroe County High School graduates to be given over the next 10 years.

$5,000 for the George Eagle Bushong, MD Medical Scholarship
$5,000 for the Clarice Headrick Bushong English Literature Scholarship
$5,000 for the Pearl Bushong Law Scholarship

This totals $55,000 per year for the next 10 years.  These scholarships along with his contributions to the wellness center total $1.05 million.
